Hello my name is Don. I am just getting into beekeeping and I am building 2 Langstroth hives(4 deeps,4 supers). I would like to collect 2 local swarms this spring. I live in Prineville and will travel anywhere in central oregon to collect them. Thank you. Highboy751@hotmail.com Or call 541-788-5772

You should order a couple packages to fill those boxes and then expand with Swarms. Last season I go no swarms. The season before we got 30 or so. It all depends on the season. I would get a for sure package to get started.

I couldn't agree more with eastsidebuzz. If you don't order packages or nucs now you may find yourself in quite the desperate pickle in a couple months from now. My 1st year I was convinced that I could lure a swarm to my spankin' new hive or find a swarm. I had to settle for overpriced packages - way too late in the year to get a good start. If you order some nucs now and end up finding swarms anyway, you'll be a happy camper.

Good point, I will order some bees soon. It wouldn't be fun watching empty hives all summer. Thank you
