I've been talking to some bands about possibly playing at the reception at the conference. Because most of this will be payed for by passing the hat, I am curious what styles are prefered. I know Bluegrass is popular among many of my friends. That is why we started there; we can fund it.

You know, if everyone picked ACID ROCK (as a joke), could we get it! I could just imagine that, acid rock and beekeepers. Oh boy! That's my vote.

Hey Todd, How about if we set up a DJ scratching a record back and forth with a gang banger bouncing around the room spitting into the microphone doing rap? Oh yeah! That one will win for sure! Harry

A few years back,,,well, somewhere in the 70s, I was asked to get in the ring and throw a few punches at a poor sap so they could use the film to promote a traveling tough guy fight roadshow that was coming through town. I couldn't believe the "music" that they wanted to play with the film. It was a guy, YELLING into the microphone with a rock band that sounded like a freight train headed straight toward you. The boys told me that the band was called BTO. The "O" stands for overdrive, I remember that much. Well when I saw the ad on television, the music really went well with the action, I thought. Since then, I have seen monster trucks and motorcycle films with this "music" behind it and I thought it blended well. So, if The boys are going to vote for rap and acid rock, (what ever that is?!!) I'm voting for heavy metal. Normy P.S.(Thom, can I vote twice? Make it bluegrass.)

I think Country/Bluegrass (I'm actually not a fan but it's okay) would appeal to the most and be the least overwhelming. I like the kind of music that George Hansen uses for his bee talks/slide shows, not sure what that is, maybe oldies.

Norm, I think that the music track for Deliverance should be played where ever you go.
George Hansen played Chris Isiak's song "Bad Bad" and Loudin Wainwright's "Dead Skunk". I'm sure Geroge will have something new for us this year.

Vanderscrewell, Get on the stick and check time sheets and see who's screwing around on the clock. Watch out though, certain employees hide behind Clara's apron strings when they get caught. I want to see some paperwork , on my desk, signed by the weekend. Make it happen!

Alex, Thank you for the great job you are doing with the bees up there, all things considered Funny thing that you menttioned polka. A few years back. a group named Basia released a few albums with modernized basia-nova / samba tunes that were a hit. Who would have ever thought... Maybe polka is the next goldmine. Keep up the good work, and don't work too hard up there. Harry
