We just checked on our 3 hives. One hive is strong, one has a laying worker, and one has no bees and mold all over the frames. It appears the pollen has molded. How harmful is the mold to the bees? Is it necessary to remove the moldy wax before reusing the frames or will the bees just "clean up" the mold? There are some frames with honey and mold, is that safe for the bees? If the mold is not safe for the bees can I still use the wax for candles? Me and my husband are at odds on this. I think the mold is just plain no good and we need to scrape it all off. He thinks the bees will take care of it (when we get more bees of course). Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated.

Hello, just lightly spray the mold off with the hose then shake out the excess water. A strong hive or swarm will take care of it....
