We will have our monthly meeting this Friday, August 28th at 7:30 PM in our regular meeting place, the Capital Center on the SW corner of NW 185th and NW Walker on the border between Beaverton and Hillsboro. Come at 7PM for socializing before the meeting starts.
Harry Vanderpool will review what has happened thus far this year for beekeepers in northwest Oregon, present a talk on what makes a beekeeper and will talk about fat bees and key points to consider as you get your bees ready for the winter.
We will also have our regular discussions of your beekeeping activities and beekeeping tips for September.
See you then!

Going fishing Friday, hope I can make it. It would be a pitty to miss Harry for the 2nd (maybe 3rd time).

It sounds like it may be time for some smoked salmon to show up at the "fourth" meeting if Todd is a no show "again"? Drew's mead & fresh smoked salmon, heck I might even drive into a TVBA meeting for that one.
Does "fishing" qualify as an excuse to miss a meeting & still be in good standing? Somebody better pull out the Chapter's rules & check that one out. Anybody have a description of Todd's boat so I can "cork" him if he shows up at bouy 10 (or should I say bumper boats)?
NO Todd, I'll give you an excuss pass this time if need bee due to your overseeing the webpage monthly things to do in the apiary (really, because I'm an avid fisherman & always looking for an excuse to go too). Good luck fishing.

Well, I missed the meeting. I with I could have done two things at the same time. 4 salmon, 16 crabs. If it will get me into good standing again, I can bring smoked salmon at the next meeting (provided Drew brings some mead).
Someone share the main points of Harry's talk.
I know for my hives (since I put meds in recently) some are very light, and in general hives are much lighter this year. So we are going to have to feed...
I used apiguard for varroa. I still have about 40 hives to get to and medicate.
