This is your president, Todd. Since Jerry Schwanche has retired, I need to find others to go in with to buy queens... or order less queens.
The queens are from Heitkam's Honey Bees and will either be New World Carniolans or Northern California Italians. Arrival will be late April - May.
I will discuss this at the next meeting too. Understand, that when the queens come in, you will need to pick them up and pay ASAP (at my house in Forest Grove).
Currently, I have 25 queens ordered, and 20 have been spoken for already. I can increase the order size... Todd

Todd,
If you have any cancellations, I would take 1 or 2 NWC.

No cancellations Brian, and we also used up Drew's extra Florida Italian's too.
Next time... I plan to order some late summer queens from John Jacob.

Todd,
No problem, I have been taking swarms and putting them in nucs. Then after the queen is laying, I use the nuc to requeen. I have had a challenging time this year requeening. But I think that they are all queenrite now. If not, they had their last chance. After red clover, I’m going to check again and any hive that is queenless will be DEPOPULATED as Thom recommends.
Also Bee Day at Dan Hiscoe’s place was very interesting. I think next year I might give queen raising a try myself. Thank Dan again for us when you see him.
Brian
