This is our tentative schedule for June, July, August, and September:
(Incidentally, The Oregonian interviewed and photographed our secretary, Preston Gabel, and this photo and related article will be in the Washington County Section this Thursday --front page, June 22).
Okay, our schedule:
JUNE: Mark Johnson, commercial beekeeper. Subject: Taking off honey, purchasing mid to late summer queens. We will also discuss and get feedback on the quality of the queens that many of us ordered through the club queen order.
JULY: Hopefully Gerry Veley will be back from Asia. Asia beekeeping. And I'd like to address tactics or viable options for varroa treatment. We may cancel this meeting in lieu of a picnic at either Hagg Lake or at Chuck Sowers.
AUGUST: Thom (the Web Master): The Problems We Import And How Beekeepers Find Solutions When The Scientists Don't.
SEPTEMBER: Hopefully Chuck and Harry Vanderpool, The Year In Commercial Beekeeping -- moving bees to pollinate crops, power point/slide show (something along these line anyway).
