When you load the page where the General Board is there is a Kerry/Edwards solicitation.
What's up with that?

That campaign advertises with the company that hosts this message board. It is the same with the Google related ads. The Republicans and other parties could do the same. This message board is provided to us for free. The only way to avoid all ads on our message board is if we pay a fee to the host. If enough people voice their opposition to ads on this message board I will bring the issue to the OSBA Board and request funds to pay the yearly fee.
There is a disclaimer on the ad that states, "The views expressed in this ad do not necessarily reflect that of this forum."
On a personal note I like the ads that point our users toward beekeeping related items, but with them we will get ads for unrelated goods and services. It will be less expensive if we simply overlook the stuff we aren't interested in. I do find political marketing interesting this year. My wife is registered with a party and I am registered as an independent. I get so many more phone calls and more direct mail than she gets. I no longer answer my phone. Harry wrote me recently and said that I was harder to reach on the phone than Norm.

I kind of figured something like that.
Is there a way that we members can donate to pay for the use of the board so keep that crap off, and add links to more useful sites?
I'd be willing to donate...

Have the board users pay? No, I don't want to tax the users. Not even the 1% of them who make over 200k per year. (sorry I couldn't resist) If I get more comments from other OSBA members I will take it to the Board when we meet on October 28, but unfortunately by that time we will only have a couple of days left before the election, so it will be a moot point for another four years. Vote early, vote often. Disclaimer, this message is in no way an endorsemen of any political party or candidate. No animals were hurt in its creation.
