Thom did you use Freightliner 41? Now don't start storying because a little birdy said you did although the truck log is not filled out. Anyway my "Andy Griffith Sings His Favorite Gospel Tunes" CD is missing. If you didn't take it, tell me who did and I'll punch their lights out. ;D Normy

I confess, I took it ab-Normy. You'll get it back Tuesday. Knowing that you're going to run four deep brood boxes next year, I figured I'd giveyou an early Christmas present.
I took it to a friend of mine who tricks out cars and trucks. He's really good too. Anyahoo, he removed the bed then reshaped the frame to lower the back about 18 inches. When he rebolts the bed to the frame you truck will accomidate your new hive demensions.
I promise, you're going to be pleased.

You know, Earbreeze, one of these days I'm going to find out who your parents are and line you up with a but-tanning. If you can ever learn to behave, maybe you can learn to keep bees from us pros. ;D And by the way, F.O.R.D. boy, I found my CD. I was setting on it. Hugs & Kisses, Normy

.....Italians. I have gone with carnioleans for years. This year I added 50% Italians. I am more comfortable with their late season population. But like all decisions; only time will tell. Harry

Harry Yup, not dissing the Carniolans, but Italians with all their quirks seem best for Northwest beekeeping Where did you get your Italian queens?

My experience with the Italians in Bend is that with a full deep of capped honey, they will be starving by the end of February, and we have no nectar until April here. The Carnolians and Buckfasts seem to need about half of that. In fact I learned this spring that it's possible with the Carnies to start out the spring honeybound, and I have to do something to give them a bigger brood nest or they'll swarm.

Is this where you're from? If so when does "Spring" generally begin in your nech of the woods? Typically, it's early April up here in the Seattle area, and yes I've had problems with hive running out prior to the Maple Flow. But Febuary? you folks must be getting an earlier start. NORM....What Say You? ;D ;D
