I'm beginning to wonder about the wisdom of beekeeping since I have not been able to sale this year's honey crop yet. I don't retail honey, no time, nor could I begin to sale the volume I have.
I have about 7 barrels of honey. Glorybee is the only Oregon wholesale buyer now. They've stopped buying honey, riddled with honey samples they haven't even opened up yet (like mine). They don't respond to your inquiries or requests.
I joked to Ron O. from GloryeeBee that I'll call back in 6 months (it really wasn't much of a joke; it's how I feel). I guess the time has come for small keepers with volume to discuss sending honey back east with the big boys (if that's logistically possible).

Todd, please don't confuse the issues. Beekeeping takes wisdom, and it is encouraging to here someone recognize that. But selling honey isn't beekeeping. It is a very important and necessary skill, yes but your beekeeping wisdom will take you much further. So you are discouraged, that's obvious. I would be too if I were trying to sell my honey to Dick Trance-in-the Sky. Here is a tip from your old pal Norm Counterman, call Brent Barkman at Barkman's Bees in Kansas. Keep your chin up, kiddo I hear you are doing a good job down there! Normy

I am a individual looking to purchase raw honey. Would you be interested in talking with me about a sale?

Sure Dana P. However, I did sell roughly 90% of my honey wholesale. But I still have 6 to 8 buckets that I held back (3.5 or 4 gallon buckets). Sandy and Forest Grove are the locations where you could pick honey up. If you're located elsewhere, look at "Product and Service" info. on the OSBA web page. Locate someone closer. Let me know -- I am always interested in meeting people who want to by bee products.
