dark queen do not always meen carnolian right or do i just not have all the info. my italian hive has a vary dark queen (ok almost black) does that meen that my italians who have acted like, look like italians are carnolian or im i seing things. oh and i dont were sun glasses so that rules out that posible answer. but a funny thing is bolth my hives are this years swams and my carnolians are a mix of italians and carnolians because there are bolth in this hive and i don't think that thay are getting lost and ending up in a each others hive. soooo im confused. i dont think my carnolians are going to make it through winter any way. darn that realy stinks. i hope every one had a good summer i know i did. Mag, you sound like a fellow that loves bees and beekeeping. There is an earnestness in your notes. Forget about your queen and answer me this; Why are you convinced that your bees will not make it through the winter? Norm Counterman
