I was waiting to hear from any of you that attended the seminar about formic acid. I wanted to hear if there were positives or negitives about it. I did read in one of the bee books that it does have a strong action on the nails in the hive, it does eat them away. Sure would like to hear more about it. Steve

I personally think any information is good information. Good or bad, it is your ability to decide. After hearing/seeing the seminar I think I will give it a try next spring after I read all the stuff and watch the video. If it works, that's great. The catch is your are dealing with an acid that can cause harm. Supposedly if you are doing the low dose treatment it will not cause harm to the metal in your hive. It just so happens where I work (car dealership) that the cleaning people use formic acid for some of there cleaning, so I can get a small amount to try out for free ;D As of yet I have not had any problems with the mites I have been treating for them just in the fall, but I also don't want to get caught with my hands in my pockets. If the formic acid works well, I may switch over. Time will tell. GOOD LUCK TO ALL AT THE STATE FAIR THIS YEAR!!!
