Just thought I'd introduce myself... I'm in South Tabor in SE PDX. I've got a nice mellow colony of Italians that is thriving. I'm completely enamored with these lovely insects. My neighbor turned me onto a hived colony (he's got two and is also a new beek). We've booth had our beasts for a little over two months. I joined the ORSBA today (sent in my app and dues). Hope to meet some of you in the future and looking forward to learning as much as I can about my lovely ladies. Here is a shot of the "Honeycomb Hideout" and one of its frames:

Thanks Matt...I think I read a little article about you and your TBH & Warre hives. Cool stuff. Next year I think I'm going to try some different styles.
Langstroth is obviously an easy way to go but with so much variety out there it would be a shame not to try others.
