Time marches ever forward, kiddies. The Oregon rains are upon us. Will we have warm fly-days yet this year that allow normal hive inspection conditions? Maybe. Take heed that your time is short to make any REAL improvement in your hives, depending on, of course, the issue that needs improvement! If your bees need more chow to transverse the winter, sock it to them! Maybe you have a hive here and there that occupy 6 or 8 frames but otherwise are heathy. This is common during this time of year due to the declining photoperiod. Reduce them to a single and feed them if temperature allows. They will thrive better throughout the cold with less space to heat. They will also be able to cover more brood, resulting in a flatter brood population curve throughout the winter. WATCH THEIR FEED!!!!! Procrastination time is over. At any rate, you'll stay ahead of the game next year; right? Normy P.S.: attention to scoffers: Out of 14863 colonies, our losses are 121 soley from queenlessness so far this year. ;D

Well hurray for you Normy baby. I do have to agreee that your bees look really good this year going into winter and so do mine. I have lost a few hives due to queenlessness as well this year. How's every one else doing?
