Hi, I examined two hives on 8/20/19 in McMinnville by the Air Museum. The bees from both hives were bringing in lots of bright orange pollen. I am wondering if anyone would know what plant this pollen could be from since I have not seen plants in bloom. Also, other bees were bringing in light green pollen and am curious what plants are blooming this time of year. Thank you for the assistance. Marcel

The bright orange pollen is almost for sure, "false dandelion" and / or dandelion. McMinnville has tons of Ivy which is coming into bloom here in Salem. It produces green tint pollen.

Thank you for the information. I did not know Ivy is a source of pollen and nectar and found an article on it. The honey and the ivy – why gardeners’ foe is the bees’ friend - www.sussex.ac.uk/broadcast/read/19003Marcel
