Greetings All,
I just recently acquired a hive that's was knocked over and damaged by a bear. it is unknown how long the hive has been on it's side on the ground (My guess is about 6 months based on the weeds around it) but the insides are a complete shamble. Ironically, the colony remained and appears to be ok. Now here's my dilemma, I need to know the best way to move the colony to a new hive. I know it's the wrong time of year to even consider such a thing but I really don't believe they'll last the winter as they are. I have a new hive and all the equipment but have never transferred an entire colony out of a damaged hive before. Any suggestions?

I'm interested to see what you did, did you end up winterizing the damaged beehive? I'm starting to write an article about beehive winterization on my blog www.ebeehq.com/, but it would also be interesting to possibly get an article on how you overcame this issue. Please email me Robert at steveebeehq@gmail.com.
