...when you secure your hives to the pallets?
I would think the easy of plastic strapping, but generally...I see metal used when securing heavy loads.
What do you prefer?

I buy 1" nylon strapping in rolls and buckles from Parr Lumber. I think that this makes for the strongest strapping option of all. Unlike all of the cheapy-ass straps offered by bee supply house, these binders DO NOT break. You can literally tighten them as tight as you want. In fact, Parr binds lunber orders with them using a tool that tightens them so tight that you have to cut them with a knife to remove them. When something really bad happens, you want straps that go the distance. These straps are SUPER STRONG and very affordable.

That's impressive! Thanks for the response!
What is the make and model of the tool?
Is it easy on and off? I was leaning towards metal as it's recyclable is the same true for the nylon used?

Yaaa what the... your boxes are ALWAYS fresh painted. I want to see pictures of some dirty stuff. Beginning to think MAYBE you don't have bees in those things. Question: Do they make some kind of release thing for metal straps? I can't wrap my head around why anyone would use anything but nylon straps with a buckle of some kind. One last question: Did you back into that thing with the super fast forklift? Blowing it to the ground.

I want to see pictures of some dirty stuff. One last question: Did you back into that thing with the super fast forklift? Blowing it to the ground. An irrigation gun snagged a pallet, drug it along plowing 5 additional pallets. 24 hives involved. Although the straps did not hold everything together just perfect, they did WAY better than any other option would have.
