Hello Portland beekeepers! I am working on an experiential education program this summer, with a group of students from Fir Ridge Alternative High School. The program is focused on running a small farm stand in an area students have researched and determined as a "food desert". We will be doing a lot of organic gardening, working on a farm and also looking at value added products. I would love to expose the students to beekeeping as a viable business and as a vitally important aspect of farm productivity. The school is located in SE around 112th and Market. If you would be open to having a visit to your hive this July or know of anyone who would be open to such a visit please get in touch. We would also love to try selling honey at our market booth, so perhaps we could buy honey from you too? Any ideas would be welcome!
