So my husband has been bitten by the mead making bug and is looking for local honey at a bulk price. Forgive me, I don't know what honey is going for per pound this year (I have only one TBH that I just started this year) so is anyone interested in unloading a few (5? 10? not sure) gallons? I'd love to get enough to keep him busy brewing (and out of my hair) all winter!
(Not that I don't plan on drinking my share, of course ;D)

I cant speak for anyone but myself, but as last year was one of the worst honey years on record, and the prevailing though is that this year's yield will be worse -- then I think you should expect to pay a premium price over past years no matter who you buy it from if you want premium honey for your mead. I give my honey to all of my friends and family, but when someone wants to buy some - I'm really stingy - and this year will be more stingy. People eagerly pay me 14.95 for a 12oz jar of my small production extra tasty honey. That money simply goes back into my bees, and I don't make a profit overall. I really wouldn't want to sell anthing larger than 12oz because it would not only make my price seem way too high, but I also wouldn't be able to distribute it as far and wide amoungst my growing circle of friends and customers who value the quality and flavor of true small production and truly local one location honey.
Not trying to talk you out of your mead project by any means, but just wanting to prepare you that whoever sells you 10 gallons this year will probably want a record price, and that it's justified under the circumstances this year.

So I'm being overly optimistic you say?
Actually, I thought so too; I just wanted to give it a shot.
