have a very large unique looking Bee in a gap in our roof eve. looks like a Honey Bee without the yellow or a Carpenter Bee with gold and black stripes on thorax instead of black. is not active when weather is hot but rain or cool weather and many of them in and out of roof all day with pollen on legs when they return. anyone know what kind of bee this is and who we should contact to get them removed? TY

I bet if you post a picture of one of the bees, you'll get an answer. Some of these guys know their bees - and if it's indeed a honey bee, you'll get some quick response from the people who like to collect swarms. There is a swarm list here, and also you can contact Zenger Farms and they will put it out on their list if you live here in Portland.
Good luck with the bees.
