We live in Clackamas County just outside of West Linn's Willamette area. We would LOVE to have some bee hives out here. The area is still pretty rural with larger lots and older homes, mainly. We have 2 acres of woods and garden on the Tualatin River. We have berries, vegetables, wild flowers, Rhododendrons, roses, a woods, some chickens and we will soon have two goats.
I think it is a great place for bee hives. I do not think anyone in the neighborhood has any. I would love for bees to be out here polinating everything for miles around both on our side and on the other side of the Tualatin River.
In my own yard, we do not use any pesticides or herbacides. I am not certain what my neighbors do regarding this, but many are into going green so there is probably a large amount of organic gardening.
I would like someone to contact me and to come see what you think. I am looking at 2 hives, but I do not know what is possible here.
I want nothing in return for the hives. If they make some honey and you want to give us some, that is going to be fun, but it is not mandatory.
Here is my email address: Catfsm@aol.com
Thanks.
