A reminder, our meeting date for February was moved to Thursday for this month only. There was a conflict.
We will briefly be discussing what the needs of your hive may be during the early spring build up and how to mitigate for shortages of stores in the collony.
There will be a presentation on Walter Wrights "Checker Boarding" as a management method to open the overhead honey stores and work with the bees for swarm prevention and the benefits of checker boarding including a large workforce for honey production.
Our guest speaker will be Matt Reed from "Bee Think". His presentation will be on top bar bee keeping. The considerations he will cover will range from productivity, disease management and considerations for treatment of hive ailments.
