The TVBA is making a quantity nucleus hive purchase and we are trying to save members a few dollars. The five-frame nucs of bees have a fresh queen and are being purchased from George Hansen at Foothills Honey Farm (the site for Bee Day). The price for each nuc is $78 with a price break of $5 if we have an order for 25 or more.
We want to pick them up next Saturday and our goal is to get orders for 25, so far we have 13. We will need to have the money for each nuc prior to pick-up day. We will have the nucs available for pickup at a common location in the Beaverton area next Saturday if all goes as planned.
This is an opportunity to get new colonies started early in the season for good worker build-up during these early nectar flows.
Let either me or Paul Andersen know if you wish to place an order.
Thanks, Herb Brasington

The total club order has turned out to be 33 nucs. If the weather allows George to finish prepping them, we will try to pick them up on Saturday.

Herb and I went to Georges at 5:30 this morning and picked up the Nucs. They are a Five Frame nuc that are good and heavy! We had distribution points in Sherwood, Aloha and Hillsboro! It was a minor miracle but everything was right on schedule despite the weather! Everyone who participated saved 5 bucks per Nuc and they didn't have to drive very far!
Now I need a nap!
