I am doing an essay on honey bees and how they have been decreasing
lately due to certain circumstances.I need information concerning the
effect spraying has on honey bees and what can be done to prevent it or
what is being done. If you have time to send me some information that
would help me further my knowledge in these or other related areas, I
would be most appreciative. There are some questions listed below that I
am also looking for the answers to. If you have an extra time to answer
them for me that would be nice.Any other information you might have
concerning the topic of “Is My Community Honey Bee Friendly” would be
most appreciated. If you could also pass this information on to someone
you may know who may be able to answer some of the questions, I would be
very grateful. If not I understand and hope you have a wonderful day.
Thank you for your time.
What types of honey bees are there?
What can be done to keep bees supplied with nectar?
Are certain species effected by certain chemicals or is it all honey
bees in general?
Does spraying affect the amount of nectar a honey bee collects and honey
it produces?
What is the daily or weekly routine for the bees?
How much honey do they produce, weekly, monthly, yearly?
How much nectar do they gather weekly, monthly, yearly?
Does the amount of nectar vary from year to year?
Have you noticed a decrease or increase in bees within the last year?
If so what do you think is causing it?
Do you spray for pests such as mosquitoes or other insects?
Does this affect the bees?
Is there a way to attract more bees?
Are there resources to help home gardeners make bee-friendly choices?
If so what are they?
Have any programs started or are in the process of starting that will
help bees?
Does the state have any roadsides or open land that has or will be
planted into flowering plants in the spring to help honey bees?
