Just got a call from Terry who has his own tree service. He is felling two trees tomorrow in Tigard and one of the trees, a Western Red Cedar, has a large colony in the tree in a relatively large opening up about 10 feet. Terry says that he doesn't want to gas the bees and will take the tree down in sections if he can use someone's bee suit and veil. He says he does not know how large the hive is, but he will work with the beek to allow the bees to be removed from the tree.
He will start working on the other tree, a large maple, at 7:00 in the morning and will start work on the cedar tomorrow afternoon.
Anyone interested? Call Terry at 503-631-3586. He stays up quite late.
