OK i have/had a swarm about 20 ft up in an oak tree branch I would guess they came from my hive since the hives where only 30 feet away. Hive #1 has no eggs and about 6-7 queen cells that I counted. Maybe if you camp out you can get another swarm from this hive in the next few days
I put a sheet out under them, gave them a nice hive body to move into, Gave the branch a snap. Yet they still all went back up into the branch, so I gave the branch another snap. Still bees back up into the branch. Gave them a thank you for there hard work and wished them well. ;D
I hope they go off and make 100 lbs of honey this year. I will miss you.
Salud!!! Mead, like life, is a journey and not a destination. So stop and savor the flavors along the way!
That is funny drew. Sorry for the loss of golden liquid creators.
I found like 25 cells in one of my hives today. A few young larva and not alot of capped brood. Low on bees. The wierd thing is that the cells were emergency cells. Just crazy, they were big and numerous. Kind of makes me want to put some more nukes together oh, wait, I did. It is impressive the emergency cells a power hive can make. Not so powerful now. Took a quick look around the yard and no swarm to be found. I wonder what happened?
