are there any hobby bee keepers in the dalles area that i can compare note with? i have one hive since spring and had 5 boxes on it, and extracted the honey from the top three boxes ( 9 gallons ).i did not take any from the bottom two boxes. i now have 2 boxes for the winter and the top one has 10 full frames of honey. my ? is what is the best way to get rid of mites? i think i would like to try the powdered sugar method but i don't know how it is done.

I use 5 to 7 drops of wintergreen oil in a quart jar of sugar water feed bees spring and fall strong hives two jars smaller hive one jar in spring will normally take care of any mites that wintered over
