I moved to the Willamette Valley about 3 years ago and quickly discovered I am VERY allergic to grass.
I have heard that local Raw Honey can be used to acclimatize your body to local pollens and reduce allergic reactions, and this sounds like a great solution.
My concern is that I thought grass was wind pollinated and not bee pollinated. If this is true, wouldn't this mean that the Raw Honey trick wouldn’t work for grass allergies?
Has anyone tried it? Any success?
Thanks, Jodi

Honey bees gather lots of pollen from plants that are wind pollinated. Corn is a good example. We meet people all of the time that sware by local raw honey for relief from allergy & symptoms. I know of no studies on the subject. The trick would be to find local honey that was gathered at the same time as the offending pollen.

So now I need to try to find someone selling raw honey gathered last spring/summer in the Willamette Valley or I have to wait a few months. Is it possible to find raw honey that old or would it be bad at that point?
Thanks
