I want to thank the 30 members of the WVBA for their kind words and their great questions concerning my presentation on depopulation last night.
Depopulation is a touchy subject and not a practice for everyone. I expected to get challenged because it does go against the grain of "keeping." It shows me that the group in Salem are beekeepers with open minds who understand the challenges we have in this ever changing industry.
As a follow-up to the discussion, yes I will have some of the honey tested this year, and yes I will find out more about the absorbtion of moth crystals in the wax. I may test cedar shavings in my storred comb this year as well.
