Okay Thom,
I didn't read something. What's all this branch stuff. Am I suppose to make my official TVBA proclamations here, e.g., meetings dates and subjects, whose died, etc.?

Congratulations TVBA members. We were the first to post on this forum!!! Albeit, I am just talking to myself... Surprise me though: tell me that you read this at our next meeting (last Friday of the month, 2/25/05).
Subject: Who to buy queens from, and what kind to buy (or something like that). Speaker: Unknown...

Todd, post as you see fit. Let me or Harry know if any posts ever need to be deleted. I hope this will improve between meeting communications for you.

Hehehe I've been laying in the grass watching. Dang I won't be able to come this month. I have a bingo thing at one of the kids schools. So I will toss out where I get queens etc on this site. I have for the past few years gotten queens from Koehnen & Sons down in CA. Why?? Good question, a few other people I know where gettin" queens from them now and then and never had a complaint. I must say there queens are healthy never had an issue with any of them. Have been good in every way, gently and they put up a good honey crop. As for mites, I don't know I always treat and have not done drop tests until this year that will change. I will say I got two packages from them last year, neither made it. I know for fact they had mites cause I could see them during the summer, I treated as usuall but I do not no if the treatment worked for them. One hive swarmed late in the summer (my fault), the other hive was full during the fall, I checked it this last weekend there was only a few frames of bees hanging out. No queen! The rest where GONE, not many dead ones on the bottom board, good food and pollen supplies in the hive. The second source I get queens from usually for late season reasons (swarms, not happy with current queen etc..) is Ron Bennett at Luckiamute Bee. Have had not one bad queen from him either. In fact if you go to his place plan on spending some time. NOTE, have you noticed most all the breeders have sold out there packages already Wonder why? There is my two cents for this month ;D

There is nothing more me and my c0cktail shaker would love to do ;D But I work in Beaverton live in Newberg it would be hard for me to make it and then go home. You know the new c0cktail shaker ;D Besides I would more then likely shoot my mouth off and make some nice people mad
