I made up 3 1/2 gallons of syrup today. I used my high output propane burner and scorched the bottom enough to turn the syrup a deep amber. I have herd that caramelized products in syrup can cause digestive problems for the bees. I am wandering if there is a scientific basis for this opinion, or if anyone out there has feed darker syrup to their bees with or without incident?

You're putting too much thought into making syrup.
Add hot water out of faucet into bucket. Dump sugar in, stir. Presto.
