Dusting for mites, treatment in February? I read to use direct contact method. Can I put this in with the sugar or on top of a pollen patty. How much per hive? We caught a small swarm last year and they over wintered nicely. We haven't been beekeeping long so we're not sure. I put fondant in last week when it was warm, can we put some mite treatment on top of the fondant too? Just curious...thanks? .

Very loaded question. What kind of treatment?
General speaking treatments should not be in there longer then recommended. Never really has been a good idea to include them into pollen or grease patties. (contrary to what some old timers say)
The point of a treatment is to get in. Kill what it will kill in a short period of time. Then get it OUT!
If this was a small swarm, may have been a young queen. Yaaaaaa for you. She should do will this summer. Most swarms are pretty "clean" of mites, cause of the fact they don't have brood with them.
