I make cider in Portland and I'm looking for a few gallons of apple blossom honey for a small project. If it goes well, I could be interested in a regular source.
Also looking for meadowfoam.
And finally some carrot honey. I've used madras carrot honey in the past but I'm hoping to find some highly flavored honey.
Please email nat@revnats.com. Thanks!

Quick reply: really doubt there is such a thing, apple blossom honey. Could be wrong. But in general spring pollination honey goes to the bees. Not sure if apples produce much nectar.
You do get blueberry honey (large acreages of blues) but not much -- the exception. I have placed bees in a apple orchard -- no honey.

Thanks Todd. I wondered if that would be the case. Bees being too hungry post-winter to share any leftover honey. I was wondering if maybe in Eastern Washington there might be apple honey due to climate.

How committed are you to carrot honey? I suspect there might be some unfortunate QAL honey out there someone would be happy to sell. I don't know though.

Ive had bees make apple honey on a good year but it gets mixed with dandelion which is bitter. I used the honey for splits. Never thought of extracting.
